Michael Douglas to talk acting at Jerusalem Cinematheque

In the evening, Douglas will be awarded the Genesis Prize by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky in a ceremony at the Jerusalem Theater.

Oscar-winning actor and producer Michael Douglas will be in Israel this month to accept the Genesis Prize, and will appear at an event at the Jerusalem Cinematheque at noon on June 18, where he will be interviewed about his career and his social activism.
Director Benjamin Freidenberg will conduct the interview. There are a limited number of tickets to this event available to the public.
In the evening, Douglas will be awarded the Genesis Prize by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky in a ceremony at the Jerusalem Theater.
The Genesis Prize carries an award of $1 million and is given to one person per year.
Last year’s winner was former New York mayor and entrepreneur Michael Bloomberg. The Genesis Prize is awarded by the Genesis Prize Foundation in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister of the State of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
According to the organization’s website, the Genesis Prize “honors individuals who have attained excellence and international renown in their chosen professional fields, and who inspire others through their engagement and dedication to the Jewish community and/or the State of Israel.”
