Pat Boone to celebrate Israel’s 70th with Caesarea concert

Legendary pop singer Pat Boone may be 83, but he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Instead, the pop, R&B and gospel singer announced this weekend that he’ll be performing a concert in Caesarea next year to mark Israel’s 70th anniversary.
The show will take place on May 13, 2018, at the Caesarea Amphitheater, as part of a trip Boone will be taking to Israel along with 200 guests.
The concert will also be filmed for a live TV special, according to the organizers. Boone is slated to appear alongside “celebrity friends and all-star musicians including the legendary Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.”
Though Boone, an Evangelical Christian, has visited Israel many times over the years, he only held his first performance in the country in 2016, at age 81.
Boone saw his greatest chart success in the 1950s and 1960s, with songs like “Ain’t That a Shame,” “Love Letters in the Sand” and “Moody River.” In 1960 Boone penned the lyrics to the theme song for the film Exodus, titled “This Land is Mine.”
