Schiff Prize
Last week, the opening of the Schiff Prize collection was held at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, which features about 120 paintings by Israeli artists who’ve won the prize over the last decade. Haim Schiff (1924-2000) was a businessman, hotelier and an enthusiastic collector of Israeli art, who supported many young and unknown artists. His son, Dubi Schiff, decided to commemorate his father’s memory by awarding an annual prize at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art to a prominent Israeli painter who engages in figurative painting.
Attending were Dubi and Anna Schiff; TAMA Director Tania Coen-Uzzielli; chief curator Doron Rabina; and curator of the exhibition Dr. Doron Lurie, and his wife Dr. Aya Lurie, director of the Herzliya Museum for Contemporary Art.

Power Rangers
Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban, the founder of Saban Brands and the individual responsible for the international success of the Power Rangers, visited with his wife Cheryl on the set for new episodes with Mr. Moreno’s Tricks. The Saban couple enjoyed meeting up with the show’s cast and had their picture taken with them, too. They also spoke with employees who’ve been involved in the filming of the series in its various incarnations over the last twenty years.
Last Wednesday, members of the Young Friends Circle of the Batsheva Dance Company were honored to be the first ones to watch Sharon Eyal’s The LOOK, which was performed by the Batsheva Dance Company’s Young Ensemble.
The youngsters were invited to watch the dress rehearsal of the show, which will be performed at a gala evening in New York at the end of the month. Immediately afterward, a cocktail hour was held with co-founders of the Young Friends Circle, Daphi Levy Weiss and Sigal Mordechai, as well as with Roni Duek, Sir Ronald Cohen and Sharon Harel.
