Most Israelis around the country will be cleaning for Passover over the next three weeks. But most Israelis aren’t Lior Raz, the star and co-creator of the smash hit TV show Fauda.
In a new commercial for the supermarket chain Shufersal, which began airing this week, Raz is shown with his family cleaning for the upcoming holiday. He leans out the window to scrub something off the glass, and is spotted by a neighbor.
“Lior Raz!” the neighbor exclaims. “You clean for Passover?”
“Why, what do you think I would do?” Raz replies, as a special forces team arrives with high-powered hoses, suspension ropes and – inexplicably – a helicopter. When that still doesn’t get the spot off the window, Raz shouts into a walkie talkie: “Are you crazy? It’s Passover. Bring in the monster,” as a truck rolls on to the front lawn.
“Ah, I was just asking,” the neighbor stammers, walking away as Raz wishes him a happy Passover.
Raz is currently filming the third season of Fauda in Israel, which is slated to air later this year on Yes, and features Raz’s character Doron entering Gaza.
