A woman was appointed to serve as the vice head of the Director of Security of the Defense Establishment (D.S.D.E), a press release said on Tuesday. This is the first time a woman was selected to serve in this role.The D.S.D.E. is in charge of handling weapons security for various arenas, including weapons of mass destruction and those connected to the Ministry of Defense.The woman, Vered K., had been working for D.S.D.E for more than 30 years. She is seen as one of the main authorities on weapons in the defense industry. She will serve under current head Nir Ben Moshe.Since the exposure of American-Israeli spy for Israel Jonathan Pollard in 1985, the agency also handles foreign agents who provide Israel with technology related secrets.
