One of the residents of Mevo Modi’im who lost his home in this month’s fire was highly regarded musician Aryeh Naftali, who fronts The Elevators, one of the country’s most potent jam bands with an emphasis on the Grateful Dead catalogue.
Thankfully, the studio on the moshav near Modi’in that housed his instruments, notebooks and historical paraphernalia was unharmed.
“The Elevators will carry on,” said Naftali, and their first public appearance since the fire – on Thursday, June 6, at Mike’s Place in Jerusalem – will undoubtedly be a celebration of life.Admission is free and showtime is 10 p.m.
