An Israeli man was arrested, placed on house arrest, and forbidden from entering the Temple Mount for several months by a Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court judge on Wednesday, after threatening to set a massive fire at the holy site during Lag Ba’omer.According to police, Daniel Sedika of Jerusalem recently made the threats on his Facebook page, writing that he would set a bonfire on the Temple Mount to “inflame the Middle East” on the holiday.The judge presiding over the case said that Sedika, a self-described provocateur, confessed to writing the passage and said he received numerous “likes” and encouragement from friends, which created a “fundamental danger of violence in a sensitive and volatile situation.”Sedika was ordered not to leave his home for the next three days and barred from the Temple Mount for four months, police said.It is not unusual for police to arrest extremist Arabs and Jews for Internet incitement.Indeed, many Arabs were arrested during and after Operation Protective Edge last summer for encouraging terrorist attacks against Jews over the Web.
