Minister gives blessings to project 'Ten' international aid efforts

Communications Minister Ayoub Kara met in his office on Thursday with representatives of the Jewish Agency's Project 'Ten' and was briefed on its current activities. Most recently the project's volunteers were working on earthquake relief in Mexico. Participants in the meeting included Nir Lahav, the director of the agency's activism unit, resources development manager Shirin Yehezkel Hayatt and external relations and marketing manager Dvora Szerer. Project' TEN' is an international development program that operates volunteer centers around the world. The project brings together young adults from all over the world to a program that combines volunteer work with vulnerable communities and service-learning in the fields of international development, culture, identity,and Jewish activism. The purpose is advancing world peace and performing Tikkun Olam ( Hebrew for repairing the world). Project 'TEN' started working five years ago and currently operates centers in various countries, including: Ghana, Mexico, Ethiopia,Uganda, South Africa and Israel. Fields of interest include: informal education, public health, agriculture and coexistence. Kara praised Project' TEN' and expressed his willingness to help expand it to other countries and projects.
