Starbucks on the way back to Israel or just April Fools?

The last time Israelis met Starbucks, it didn't go so well.

Just the sign has caused some transplanted Americans in Jerusalem to start salivating. A boarded up storefront on the capital's main drag Jaffa Rd. featured a 'Coming soon, we can't wait to meet you' sign on Sunday adorned with the logo of famed coffee chain Starbucks.
Once the Jerusalem Municipality posted a photo of the sign along with a message that a Starbucks branch would be opening in a month, social media of the local Jerusalem Anglo variety exploded. Coffee aficionados who don't think there's enough java variety already within arm's distance on Israel's street were a-twitter.
Unfortunately for lovers of seven-dollar frappuccinos, the municipality later confirmed that the post was, in fact, an April Fools prank and that the sign in the picture had been photoshopped onto the building.
The last time Israelis met Starbucks, it didn't go so well. In 2001, the international chain opened six branches in the Tel Aviv area, but within two years, they had all closed. Many surmised that the blends were too bland for the Israeli palate.
