1. Lighthouse Hotel
The opening event of the new Lighthouse Hotel, which was designed by architect Nestor Sandbank and is part of the Brown Hotel Chain, was held in the new hotel’s Rooftop, with the urban landscape of Tel Aviv in the background. The Brown Hotel chain is owned by Nir Weizman, Leon Avigad and Nitzan Perry. The event included a wide range of attractions, including: a men’s haircutting station, dancers, tattoos, music and cocktails.
2. Hut Hameshulash
Hut Hameshulash, which helps at-risk youth, recently held its annual fundraising event at Castel Winery in Yad Hashmona, in which they raised NIS 300,000. Attending were Hut Hameshulash chairman Yigal Goldstein; Castel Winery owner Ariel Ben-Zaken; and Dan Elyashar, owner of Mikud and a Hut Hameshulash board member. Among the guests spotted at the event was TV anchor Eli Ildis.
3. Granite Alphen
The Granite Alphen Capital Fund held its five-year celebration at Maarava Events in Kibbutz Ga’ash, which is owned and managed by Menashe Shemesh and Uri Geller. The fund specializes in trading short-term financial instruments in international markets, using a unique trading method based on a model developed by the fund’s managers. During the event, Shemesh announced the appointment of Ilan Greenboim, former CEO of Sony, Nokia and Eurocom in Israel, to the position of chairman of the Fund’s Advisory Board, and expressed his confidence that this appointment will strengthen the Fund in the areas of strategy and business development.
4. National Library
Ilana and Yair Hamburger, director and president of Harel Insurance, and chairman of the Friends of the National Library of Israel, hosted an event at their home to showcase for business leaders the renewal the library has been undergoing in recent years. Attending were chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Library David Blumberg; Rami and Yael Unger; David Fattal; Yishai Davidi; Galia and Yehoshua Maor; Rene and Susanne Braginsky; David and Naomi Kolitz; Tzachi Sultan; Yair Seroussi; David and Chaya Granot; Eyal Bakshi; and Ido and Orna Nechushtan.
5. Israeli Opera
The season opening event of the Israel Opera Friends Association was held for members in the home of Aliza Jaffa, Friends chairwoman, and her husband Prof. Ariel Jaffa. The highlight of the evening was a performance by opera singers who sang compositions by Yossi Banai. Among those attending were Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and his wife Yael; Opera general director Zach Granit; Tova and Sami Sagol; and Alfred and Chava Akirov.
