NATAL members welcomed his replacement, Prof. Rivka Carmi, who recently completed her position as president of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Members of the organization’s board of directors, donors and volunteers attended the event, during which Gantz spoke about the importance of NATAL in the complex reality we live in. Singing together to Arik Einstein’s song “You and I Can Change the World” were NATAL’s executive director Orly Gal, Shari Arison, Lilach Asher-Topilsky and Miki Haimovich, who has served as a council member of the organization for the past three years.Lend a HandIsrael Reif, president of Yad LaYeled HaMeyuchad – Lend a Hand to the Special Child, and chairman of Afcon Holdings, hosted US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Trump’s personal assistant Chris Neeley, chairman of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, and took them for a visit to the Palmahim Air Force base. They were impressed by the integration of 50 young Israelis with disabilities into the IDF, including Roi Shifman, and are interested in replicating this program in the US Army.Women’s Renaissance The public council of the Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project (JWRP) in Israel, whose aim is to empower Jewish women around the world, gathered last week at the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv. The organization has managed over the years to bring more than 15,000 Jewish professional women in their 40s, many of whom are mothers, for their first visit to Israel.Participants listened intently to speeches by JWRP founder Lori Palatnik, Miriam Peretz, Lihi Lapid and Dana Sender-Mulla, director of JWRP.FIBIThis past Friday morning, Smadar Barber- Tzadik hosted the Platinum Event of the First International Bank of Israel (FIBI) at the Smolarz Auditorium in Ramat Aviv.Over 1,000 of the bank’s clients enjoyed a delicious breakfast and a panel on the subject of ‘Behavioral Finance – the Psychology of Investing’, which was led by Dror Zachs.Afterwards the guests were treated to a special performance by Mati Caspi and Nurit Galron.Midnight Traveler The annual Docaviv gala event was held last Thursday at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque.Despite the torrential rains, friends of the organization attended the screening of the film Midnight Traveler, produced by Hassan Fazili, which will be featured at the Docaviv Festival that will take place in May. The movie describes how Fazili and his family fled the Taliban in Afghanistan.
