1. Sheba Medical
Two fundraising evenings for patients at the Oncology Department of th Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer were held at the Yahalom Theater in Ramat Gan. The evening was initiated and hosted by the CEO of Israel Friends of Sheba Medical Center Vered Grinbaum, in cooperation with hair designer Ilan Margalit and the hair salon A-Z.
Guests at the event were also warmly welcomed by Prof. Yitzhak Kreis, director of Sheba Medical Center and Galia Maor, the chairwoman of the Friend of Sheba Medical Center. The event, which was organized by Moshe Baron, was dedicated to raise funds for the purchase of wigs for cancer patients at Sheba Medical Center.
2. YJP Israel
Glenn Fogel, CEO of the global tourism giant Boeing, participated in the YJP Israel Conference held at the School of Economics and Management in Tel Aviv this week. YJP is a non-profit organization, established to connect managers of investment and financial companies to Jewish entrepreneurs.
The conference was attended by the president of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Academic College and chairman of the Committee of Heads of Public Colleges Prof. Shlomo Biderman, Dean of the School of Economics and Management Prof. Israel (Izzy) Borovich, and CEOs from Israel and around the world.
3. Israel Philharmonic
Italian President Sergio Mattarella recently hosted a concert in Rome’s Quirinal Palace in the presence of Maestro Zubin Mehta, with the participation of the virtuoso pianist Martha Argerich and musicians of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The event, which was initiated by the Foundation of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, was attended by Michal and Micky Zellermayer, chairman of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Tova and Sami Sagol, Sarah Lahat, Zvia Meitar, Hannah and Gideon Hamburger, Gloria Goldstein, Ruth and Reuven Schrift, the orchestra’s Executive Director Tali Gottlieb and its Secretary-General Avi Shoshani, as well as other guests from around the world.
4. FIDF in LA
The Los Angeles Branch of the American Friends of the IDF (FIDF) held their annual salute to IDF soldier on Thursday. The event was held at the ‘Beverly Hilton’ Hotel in the City of Angels and was attended by some 1,200 guests from the United States and Israel. The FIDF’s annual fundraising event in Los Angeles is considered to be one of the organization’s flagship events, and this year a record number $60 million was raised for IDF soldiers.
For the 12th consecutive year, a member of FIDF’s national board of directors, businessman and philanthropist Haim Saban and his wife Cheryl, led the annual fundraising event. This year, the couple donated $10 million. The event was attended by prominent businessmen, government representatives, philanthropists and celebrities from the entertainment, fashion, sports and technology industries, such as singer Pharrell Williams, who performed at the event, actors Ashton Kutcher, Gerard Butler and Andy Garcia, musician Ziggy Marley with his Israeli wife Orly, and many others.
5. Cameri Theater
Many businessmen met at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv for the launch of the new season for the Cameri Theater Friends Association with the play God of Revenge directed by Itay Tiran.
Chairman of the Association Liora Ofer, director-general of the theater Ran Guetta and director of the Association Keren Arazi hosted the members of the Friends Association and senior officials of the Tel Aviv Municipality who were watching the show. There was a cocktail reception followed by a klezmer concert. Among the attendees were Natan Bernstein, Tzipi and Daniel Mani, Yael and Rami Unger, Etti Caspi, and Ran and Hila Rahav.
