A car smashed into an electrical pole near Haifa late Friday, killing the front seat passenger and and severely injuring the driver, Israel Radio reported. Magen David Adom evacuated the driver to Rambam Medical Center in Haifia after a lengthy extrication, the report said. Earlier in the evening, fifteen people were injured and a woman killed in a serious car accident between Ma'ale Adumim and the Dead Sea, according to medics that arrived to the scene. The accident occurred when the driver of a car coming from Ma'ale Adumim lost control and crashed into an oncoming car coming from direction of the Dead Sea, police said. A third car driving behind the car coming from the Dead Sea crashed into the car ahead of him. Several children were reported to be among those injured. Stormy weather in the area is believed to have contributed to the deadly pile up, the latest in a string of serious accidents since Friday morning.
