A 6-year-old girl was killed in a fire in a third floor flat on Hadera's Rehov Hagiborim. The fire department dispatched firefighting units to the scene of the blaze. A Magen David Adom team took two injured people to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. The girl's 40-year-old father was in a serious condition and a 20-year-old man was moderately injured. The circumstances of the fire are being investigated. Also Saturday, a 12-year-old boy was killed early in the morning in a fire that erupted in an apartment building in Lod. The blaze broke out on the ground-floor apartment on Hatif Yiftah Street, across from the town's train station. The fire's exact cause remains unclear. The boy, who had been sleeping when the building went up in flames, was evacuated from the scene team in critical condition by an MDA team but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
