Two young men were indicted on Tuesday for attacking and robbing a 72-year-old taxi driver in February, leaving him lying on the road in serious condition.
The two alleged assailants, aged 19 and 21, tried to rob the Rehovot resident Yaakov Mizrahi after he picked them up near Kibbutz Palmahim. When he fought them, the two stabbed out his eye with a screwdriver.
Mizrahi then managed to get out of the vehicle, but the two continued to beat him and then took the car, which they later abandoned after stealing several items inside it.
