3 Israel Railways employees indicted on accident

Three senior employees of Israel Railways will be charged for their part in the accident at Revadim Junction in 2005. The Southern District Attorney's office issued an indictment against the three that places the responsibility for the accident, in which seven people were killed, squarely on their shoulders. The draft of the indictment also implicated the Olizki Company, which was conducting an infrastructure dig near the accident site. The accident occurred in June of 2005 after the Beersheba-bound train, which had departed from Haifa, collided with a truck that was loaded with coal dust. For a reason yet unknown, the truck had gotten stuck on the tracks while attempting to cross on a dirt road that intersected them.
