Menachem Sharabi, the five-year-old haredi boy who was squashed by an electric gate in front of an apartment building in Jerusalem's Givat Shaul neighborhood, died of his wounds on Thursday night.
A woman had pressed the remote control to open the gate, not noticing that he was playing on it. She tried to press it again to move it in the opposite direction, but did not respond.
He was rushed to Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem's Ein Kerem, where he was found to be suffering from severe internal injuries and was in a coma until his death.
