69% of registered Kadima members prefer Livni to head party if PM resigns

39 percent of registered Kadima supporters would like Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni to head the party in case Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stepped down, a poll conducted by Yediot Aharonot and the Dahaf polling company revealed Friday. Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, who on Thursday labeled Livni's call to hold primaries in Kadima an attempt to "destroy" the party, was favored by only 24% of respondents. A surprising 60% said they did not think Olmert sould step down unless the allegations against him materialized into more concrete evidence.
