Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday night called on the UN Security Council to convene and put a stop to what he termed was "a massacre" in the Gaza Strip.
Israel Radio reported that Abbas's spokesman, Nabil Abu Hadaina, said that since the start of the current IDF offensive in Gaza, 44 Palestinians had been killed.
