Alona Sheffer Caro to head Environmental Protection Ministry bureau

Attorney Alona Sheffer Caro was appointed to head Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan's bureau, a statement issued by the ministry said Monday. Sheffer Caro, 41, is a mother of three and has been the CEO of the Life and Environment Organization for the last five years. Previously she was a top lawyer in the environmental organization Man, Nature and Law and also served in the private sector. Sheffer Caro also headed the umbrella organization of green movements in Israel and in this capacity spearheaded the struggle against global warming, raised awareness for Earth Day and Earth Hour and worked to advance environmental legislation in the Knesset.
