A 21-year-old youth from Tel Aviv threatened on Saturday night to commit suicide if he couldn't talk with rock singer Aviv Geffen.
The young man, whom the IDF apparently refused to draft, had barricaded himself in his room and refused to negotiate with anyone.
After firefighters attempted to reach the youth's room via an outside window to no avail, rescue forces decided to appeal directly to Geffen, Army Radio reported.
Geffen and the young man spoke privately, and after their conversation the young man agreed not to harm himself.
