Ayalon probe returned to Civil Service Commission

The State Attorney's office returned the Danny Ayalon investigation file to the Civil Service Commission in order for it to complete the file. Ayalon served as Israel's ambassador to The United States when a severe conflict developed between him and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom three months ago. The conflict reportedly focused on the termination of a political aide. Israel Radio reported that the Foreign Ministry criticized State Attorney's move and what they believed to be an unnecessarily long investigation. The commission recently recommended Ayalon be subjected to a disciplinary trial for improper conduct while serving as Israel's ambassador in Washington.
