Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj. -Gen. Yosef Mishal to begin evacuating all Palestinians in need of urgent medical care from the Palestinian side of the Erez Crossing.
Defense officials said that Barak's decision was based on humanitarian needs.
