Barghouti demands Israel withdraw to 1967 borders within 6 months

Seven years after his arrest, imprisoned Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti sent a letter from his Israeli jail cell via his lawyer, outlining new demands on Jerusalem. Barghouti said that in addition to making a commitment to a two-state solution and freezing settlement activity, Israel must fully withdraw to the 1967 borders within six months and free thousands of Palestinian prisoners. He also urged Arab countries to exert pressure on Israel to accept the Saudi peace initiative.
