Benizri indicted for giving information for favors

Attorney General Menahem Mazuz sent the Knesset speaker a copy of the indictment filed Monday against Shas MK Shlomo Benizri, which charged that in exchange for information he gave to the contractor Moshe Sela while he was welfare and labor minister, Benizri received a wide range of favors. According to the charges, Benizri received expensive furniture, large sums of money, air-conditioning, cleaning services, an electric walker, a video camera, and finally, an enlargement of his apartment by having his neighbor's apartment paid for. Also included in the indictment is Rabbi Reuven Elbaz of Jerusalem, Benizri's mentor.
