The Knesset Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee approved on Wednesday a bill extending the statute of limitations on charges of sexual abuse and assault within the family from 10 to 20 years.
The bill was proposed by NU-NRP MK Nissan Slominaksy, also allows victims in such cases to file a civil suit against their attackers up to a year after criminal proceedings end.
