Equipment worth more than NIS 200,000 given to Haifa, Karmiel and Safed municipalities for use in bomb shelters.

Officials from B'nai B'rith's Jerusalem office have distributed more than NIS 200,000 worth of equipment to the Haifa, Karmiel and Safed municipalities for use in bomb shelters.
The donations include eight large-screen projection systems, five air conditioners and NIS 70,000 of Israel-made playground equipment.
Funding was provided by the B'nai B'rith Emergency Israel Fund, established by the Washington-headquartered B'nai B'rith International to aid residents of the North and South who were living under rocket barrages. Additional donations will be made in the coming days.
Officials from the B'nai B'rith World Center in Jerusalem met with Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav, Karmiel Mayor Adi Eldar and Safed Mayor Yishai Maimon to identify unmet needs in their communities.
B'nai B'rith is also working on the political front. World Center director Alan Schneider said, "B'nai B'rith is deeply engaged in supporting Israel at the UN - where the organization enjoys official NGO status - in Washington and in 50 countries where the organization has membership."
