Court allow Temple Mount Faithful to enter Mount

The High Court of Justice ruled Monday that members of the fringe Temple Mount Faithful can enter the Temple Mount on Thursday during a Jewish fast day, but barred the group's leader from even approaching the Jerusalem holy site, police and the group said. The decision was handed down following a petition filed by the ultra-nationalist group leader Gershon Solomon against police who wanted to ban their entry altogether on a Tisha Be'Av. In years past, the super-sensitive site has been repeatedly closed down to non-Muslim visitors on Tisha Be'av, including, most recently, just last year, due to concern over the outbreak of violence there on what was the eve of Israel's pullout from Gaza.
