Egged's Haifa branch plans to start running minibuses as part of a project to minimize the number of large buses traveling through residential neighborhoods, Israel Radio reported Sunday.
Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav said the minibuses would run more frequently than regular buses, and that residents could transfer to main bus lines afterwards for no extra charge.
If the project succeeds in Haifa, it will expand to other cities.
