Finance Ministry, MKs clash over Arrangements Bill
By SHEERA CLAIRE FRENKEL
Representatives of the Finance Ministry clashed with Knesset Members Tuesday in a six-hour debate over the Economics Arrangements Bill.
There has been increasing support for eliminating the bill, which is actually several hundred bills packaged together and passed yearly
with the budget.
"I am going to vote against it, even though there are parts of it I support," said MK Orit Noked (Labor). "Why would you force us to pass a package of laws that have nothing to do with each other?"
The MKs accused the officials of "bullying" the legislation through the Knesset, while the officials said that it would be impossibly
time-consuming to pass the bills individually.
