Five ultra-orthodox men from the Ateret Cohanim stream of Judaism entered a house in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City late Wednesday night and said they would not evacuate the building.
The five claimed they have purchased the house, as a group of Arab residents crowded outside the building.
The police detained for questioning one Arab and one Jewish resident who both claimed ownership of the house.
There was no rioting or outbreaks of violence on the scene so far, police said.
