Even as Bolivia and Venezuela were severing diplomatic ties with Israel, the Foreign Ministry named four new ambassadors to Latin America on Monday, including a new envoy to Peru who used to serve as the non-resident ambassador to Bolivia as well. Yoav Bar-On was named as the new ambassador to Peru. The other ambassadors to Latin America are Dore Goren to Uruguay, Yoad Magen to Panama and Eliahu Lopaz to Guatemala. In addition, Michael Lavon-Lotem was appointed Israel's ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Amnon Efrat will be the new envoy in Vietnam. The appointments must now go to the cabinet for final approval.
