An 18-year-old died in a car accident in Lod on Saturday morning, bringing the weekend death toll on Israel's roads to four.
Police said the car crashed into a tree, killing the teen and moderately injuring three passengers.
Earlier, a woman was killed in a road accident involving three vehicles on Route 4, near Nitzanim, police said.
Six people were injured in the collision - one seriously, one moderately-to-seriously, one moderately and three lightly.
MDA teams called to the scene evacuated the casualties to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
Also Saturday morning, a 23-year-old man was seriously injured when a car overturned onto a train track in Rehovot. A passenger in the vehicle was moderately injured.
On Friday, a 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he was hit by a vehicle on Geha Road, between the Aluf Sade and Bar Ilan interchanges. Police said the fatality was a Chinese worker and that the driver of the vehicle was detained for questioning.
Also Friday, a 70-year-old pedestrian was killed when she was hit by a car in Ramat Gan.
Meanwhile, former Road Safety Authority chairman Dr. Yoav Sarna strongly criticized the authority's members, saying that "none of them understand anything about road safety or transport infrastructure and this poor level of understanding brings mediocrity," Israel Radio reported Saturday.
Sarna, who is now head of the Israel Building and Infrastructures Engineers, called Road Safety Authority laws "insufficient," adding that the organization "lacks teeth."
