Freed Hamas members became ministers, MPs

Israel had released five Hamas officials from prison following Palestinian parliamentary elections, all of whom received positions in the Hamas government. Three of the freed prisoners became ministers. One is Education Minister and Vice Prime Minister, one is Finance Minister, and another is Minister of Local Affairs. The two other prisoners are representatives in parliament. Members of parliament who are not Hamas members are allowed full freedom of movement within the West Bank. Despite restrictions on the travel of Hamas members, to date all MPs and ministers have been able to participate in governmental meetings in Ramallah, Israel Radio reported.
