Ghazi Hamed: Hamas willing to stop Kassam launches

Hamas Spokesman in Gaza Ghazi Hamed suggested on Thursday that the Palestinian Authority government was willing to consider stopping the Kassam rocket attacks on Israel. He asserted that Hamas was interested in keeping the region calm. But, he accused Israel of not giving the movement a chance to talk to the Palestinian people and factions in order to make progress. In spite of reports that Cpl. Gilad Shalit's kidnappers cut off contact with the Egyptian negotiators, Hamed maintained in an Army Radio interview that he thought Cairo was still involved in the crisis.
