Haifa court issues order against wild boar hunt

The Haifa Magistrates' Court imposed a restraining order on the Haifa municipality and the Nature Reserves Authority following a petition by an animal rights group against plans to hold an organized wild boar hunt in the city. The event was meant to stop the recent influx of the creatures in residential neighborhoods, a phenomenon caused by dwindling natural feeding grounds in the area. The judges ruled that the municipality had not proven that other methods of keeping the animals out had failed.
