Hamas keeps close eye on Israel's elections, says truce depends on them

"We are awaiting the results of the Israeli election. If Netanyahu wins, I don't think he current [Israeli] government will be able to form a ceasefire agreement," Hamas official Osama Hamdan said on Tuesday. Speaking to Agence France Presse, Hamdan said Hamas would succeed in forming an agreement if the government currently heading Israel would continue to lead. He added that the group was still holding talks on several subjects, including crossings into Gaza, while the elections in Israel were underway.
