Haredi bomb suspect placed under house arrest

A 32-year-old haredi resident of Jerusalem caught carrying a homemade explosive device near the route of a city gay parade was placed under house arrest on Friday, police said. The suspect, who was apprehended Thursday on the city's central Jaffa Road just hours before the parade was to begin, told police that he planned to set the explosive device off in some bushes to scare people away from attending the march. He will be indicted in the coming days.
