Hebron Division commander Colonel Mati Baruch is scheduled to meet with settler leaders late Sunday afternoon in an effort to negotiate a peaceful exit from the Hebron marketplace houses.
Meanwhile, security forces predicted there would be violent clashes. As of now, several dozen people have infiltrated into Hebron to beef up the settlers' presence at the marketplace, they said.
While they were preparing for the possibility that settlers would open fire on soldiers, officials said the settlers would most probably throw stones and bottles of paint.
The IDF plans to close down the area by Monday, but will maintain a channel of communication open in the hopes of resolving the matter peacefully.
