The Supreme Court rejected on Thursday evening a petition by three of the Hamas parliament members in Israeli custody, who had appealed a remand extension decision made by a military court.
The three lawmakers - Ahmad Attoun, Wa'il Al-Husseini and Bassem Zarid, who were arrested last summer as part of an IDF crackdown meant to pressure Hamas into releasing kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit - contended that they were simply being used as playing cards, and that they did not pose a real security threat.
The MPs claimed that by arresting them, Israel had violated agreements with the Palestinians.
