IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi flew to Brussels Tuesday to participate in a meeting of NATO military commanders. This is Ashkenazi's first visit abroad since becoming chief of staff in February.
The Iranian nuclear threat as well as the continued war on terrorism will be at the focus of his talks with his counterparts from around the world. IDF sources said that Ashkenazi would try to meet with all of the chiefs of staff individually in an effort to upgrade bilateral cooperation with Israel.
Ashkenazi will address the forum while focusing on the growing military challenges Israel faces as well as regional instability in the Middle East.
