Israeli troops and Palestinian terrorists exchanged fire Friday in a West Bank village, Palestinian security officials said.
The firefight erupted in the village of Yamoun near the West Bank city of Nablus. The terrorists engaged in the fighting are members of Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a violent offshoot of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party, the security officials said.
There was no immediate report of injuries.
The military confirmed troops were operating in Yamoun, but gave no further details.
