A 22-year-old Palestinian was killed early Wednesday during clashes between IDF troops and Palestinian gunmen in Nablus. The IDF claimed that the man was armed and had opened fire on the soldiers. Military sources said that the Palestinian was an Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades operative who was behind several shooting attacks in Nablus, but Palestinian sources denied the report, claiming that the man had been unarmed. The army said that clashes in the area had been sparked by a grenade attack on IDF troops. There were no reports of casualties among the soldiers. In other IDF operations in the West Bank overnight Tuesday, IDF troops arrested 20 Palestinian fugitives. Earlier Tuesday, two Palestinians were wounded in clashes with IDF troops in Hebron.
