Shulamit Aloni: Leaves position as Israel Radio broadcaster in 1965 and elected as Mapai MK.
Emil Habibi: Elected to the second Knesset as a member of the Israeli Communist party, and continued to serve as an MK following four subsequent parliamentary elections. Served as the editor of the newspaper Al-Itihad.
David Ben-Gurion: One of the founders and editors in 1910 of the newspaper Unity, the mouthpiece of the Poalei Zion movement. Subsequently Israel's first prime minister.
