Junior faculty strike in academies, universities averted

A strike scheduled to begin Tuesday morning in higher education institutions was canceled after junior lecturers and university heads reached an agreement Monday overnight.
On Monday, lecturers in the Haifa Technion went on strike and additional disruptions were planned for the coming days in other institutions. Head of the non-tenure lecturers in Tel Aviv University said that after intensive negotiations the sides have reached understanding on general principles which convinced the lecturers not to strike.
