Katsav saga leads woman to attempt suicide

A woman who has been raped by IDF Col. Ataf Zahar attempted to commit suicide over the weekend by jumping off the balcony of her house, Israel Radio reported on Sunday. According to the woman's mother, the rape victim could not cope with the plea bargain which was reached with President Moshe Katsav, or the press conferences which followed. Col. Zahar was demoted following the trial to the rank of private.
