President Moshe Katsav and his wife Gila voted at the School for the Arts in the capital's Elhanan Street behind the Inbal Hotel on Tuesday morning. The president acknowledged that failure to vote could be viewed as a form of protest, but advised that protest of this kind could backfire. He warned that the incoming government could be taken in a direction other from that intended by the protesters. "Don't let others decide for you what the fate of the country should be," he urged. "Whatever the outcome of the elections, it's preferable that the results are based on every citizen exercising the democratic right to vote."
