The Knesset on Tuesday approved the second and third readings of a bill to restore the Kinneret beaches.
The bill calls for the creation of legislation to guard the area and its beaches, as well as for the establishment of a union made up of residents of cities, towns and villages around the lake. The bill was proposed by MKs Dov Henin (Hadash)and Ophir Paz-Pines (Labor).
The approval comes two days after the Knesset postponed voting on the Clean Air Law, and on the last day of the Knesset's winter session.
