The Likud Central Committee will convene on January 28 to debate Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to freeze settlement construction in Judea and Samaria for 10 months, the committee's chairman, Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon, announced Monday night.
Netanyahu had refused a request by 600 committee members to hold a meeting on the matter until now. It was unclear on Monday night whether the committee would vote on Likud MK Danny Danon's proposal opposing the freeze and whether Netanyahu would bring an alternative proposal for a vote.
