Lindenstrauss: A third of public complaints are legitimate

9,749 complaints against public bodies were submitted in 2007, State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss, the nation's ombudsman, said Wednesday. He stated that 33.7 percent of these complaints were found to be justified. Lindenstrauss also mentioned that in 2007 he looked into 56 complaints from people that claimed to have been affected by corruption. In one such case, former accountant general of the Finance Ministry, Dr Yaron Zelekha, was implicated. The ombudsman received more complaints about the National Insurance Institute of Israel than any other government body last year.
